Standing Ovation at A + A Düsseldorf 2025
We attended A+A 2025—the world’s leading trade fair for safe and healthy work—from November 5–7, 2025.
Messe.tv wrote a great article about us, excerpts of which we’ve included here . You can read the full article here.
Standing Ovation – Walking While Seated, Sitting While Standing: An Innovation to Combat Musculoskeletal Disorders
Standing for long periods is one of the biggest sources of strain in the workplace. At A+A, Standing Ovation is presenting a solution—an innovative movement system that combines sitting and walking. The system completely relieves strain on the legs and back—and allows users to “sit while standing” and move freely at the same time.
Standing Ovation is showcasing a new concept for ergonomic work at A+A
The developer created a system that combines freedom of movement with targeted relief. It offers an ergonomic alternative to conventional standing workstations, which place constant strain on muscles, joints, and the circulatory system. The design consists of a C-shaped frame, a seat, and a movable suspension system. The seat fully supports the body’s weight, providing noticeable relief for the legs, knees, and spine—while allowing for unrestricted mobility.
Ergonomic benefits: relief, stabilization, and exercise all at once
When using Standing Ovation, the spine is stabilized, and twisting and shearing movements are prevented. Body weight is supported by the saddle, so no strain is placed on the legs. Unlike with traditional exoskeletons, force is not transferred through the ground—movements remain light, dynamic, and fluid. The active posture helps strengthen the back and core muscles. The system thus not only helps prevent musculoskeletal disorders but also strengthens the postural muscles while working. People who have to stand for long periods—whether in manufacturing, laboratories, or the food service industry—benefit from significantly reduced fatigue and improved concentration.
Reintegration and Participation Through Reducing Workload
The system also opens up new opportunities for employees with physical limitations. Those who, due to back or leg problems, were previously unable to work while standing can now actively participate in the workforce with Standing Ovation. This approach promotes inclusion and reintegration—contributing to greater participation in the workplace.
Technical Principle: Simple Mechanics with a Big Impact
The system is based on a clearly structured mechanical design. Two guide rails, a crossbar, and a C-shaped support bracket form the support system. A spring-mounted saddle is attached to this system, which cushions movements and absorbs shocks. The design combines stability with high mobility and enables an ergonomic posture during varying activities. Users can move freely while sitting or standing, which reduces fatigue and increases physical performance.
